Continue to brush up on your basics, under the expert teaching of Neville Pope.

Light refreshments will be provided during the workshop.

Attendance will be subject to consideration by the Teachers' Panel. Participants will be expected to have a basic understanding of the following although we will not be working on (nor necessarily using) all of the following:

  • Steps – Slip, skip change, pas de basque
  • Steps - strathspey travelling, strathspey setting
  • Hands around in a circle (4, 6 & 8) (and back)
  • Turns right and left hands
  • Hands across (and back)
  • Leading
  • Casting
  • Set and cast
  • Cross and cast 
  • Figure of eight
  • Rights and lefts
  • Promenade
  • Allemande 2 and 3 couple
  • Turn corner, partner
  • Set to corners
  • Corner chain
  • Reels of three, right and left shoulder, six and eight bars
  • Reels of four
  • Poussette – Jig and Reel
  • Advance and retire
  • Back to back
  • Double triangles
  • Grand chain
  • Ladies’ and men’s chains
  • The Knot
